My lab seeks to understand how plants synthesize specialized metabolites with medicinal or agricultural use, with the eventual hope of engineering their biosynthesis in model organisms and crops. We combine metabolomics, transcriptomics, and rapid enzyme-testing in a model plant to discover and build complex biosynthetic pathways.
